Yoga for Golfers

with Dr. Al Jalowayski and Dr. Christen Scott

Dates/ Times/ Focus:

Wednesday, March 21st 3:00pm- 5:00pm Focus: Driving

Fee: $40 per workshop

There are many aspects of golfing from driving to chipping and putting. This workshop is a 3-part series that will address all of it. You can do the entire series or just the modules that interest you.
Dr. Christen Scott will teach you proper alignment of your posture, how to effectively breathe during different aspects of the game, and yoga postures to increase strength and flexibility in your body. She will also teach you some mindfulness techniques and how you can use this to improve your golf game.
Dr. Al Jalowayski will address three important and unifying concepts that apply to the execution of a good putt in the workshop on Putting; making an excellent chip and pitch during the Short Game presentation; and showing off with yard-gaining shot with the Driver. Practice routines will be demonstrated in each of those areas at the workshops, with emphasis on exercises that can be performed in the comfort of your own home.
What to bring: yoga mat, your golf club for the workshop (putter, wedge, driver), and dress in comfortable clothing that you can move in.

Restorative Yoga Training with Christen Scott, Psy.D., ERYT-500

Yin Yoga Training with Christen

Date: Saturday, May 12th 12pm- 4pm

Fee: $399 for both (8 CEUs) or $250 for 1 module (4 CEUs)

Join Christen as she teaches you about Restorative & Yin Yoga. You can sign up for both or just one of the modules. In this training you will learn that there are distinct differences between Restorative and Yin Yoga. We will explore the types of clients that will benefit from these practices and how to incorporate them into your classes and private sessions. Aside from learning the history and theory of these practices, you will leave with sample classes that you can start using immediately. A short discussion on the added benefit of essential oils in these classes will be included.

This is NOT just for Yoga Teachers. This is open to anyone interested in learning more about these no-active forms of yoga.


Kids Yoga (Ages 5-10)

with Kidding Around Yoga with Miss Stephanie

This is a 6-week series- Wednesdays 3:30- 4:20pm

Starting Wednesday, March 28, 2018 

Dates: 3/28, 4/4, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, & 5/2

Price: $90 for 6 weeks (with a 20% sibling discount) or $20 drop-in per class

Kidding Around Yoga specializes in sharing yoga and meditation with children of all ages. Using original music produced by founder Ms. Haris Lender, this technique engages children with games and other tools and activities to help children focus their minds and stretch their bodies, all while having loads of fun. It is a great method in helping children to regulate their emotions and manage stressful situations, inside and outside of the classroom.

Kidding Around Yoga with Miss Stephanie uses a system based on the classical study of yoga and transforms it into an experience for children to both introduce them to yoga as well as inspire them to develop a practice and give them tools to take into adulthood.

Wine Down Yoga: Restorative Yoga & Wine Tasting

Date: Saturday, March 31st

Time: 4:00- 5:30pm

Fee: $35

Christen will guide you through a 45-minute Restorative Yoga Class with essential oils that will relax and restore your body and mind with the intention of dissolving stress and opening you up to experience a wonderful wine tasting.

Following class, those that are 21 and older are invited to a complimentary,  guided wine tasting featuring selections from award winning wineries in Napa Valley such as DeLoach Vineyards, Buena Vista Winery, Raymond Vineyards as well as some wines from Boisset’s French wineries. Boisset Family Estates is one of the world’s most respected family-owned wine companies and is bringing some exclusive selections for us to taste. This is the only way to experience wines from their collection of historical wineries all in one tasting. You’ll be sure to find some special wines!  A list of wines with prices and a place for tasting notes will be provided. Light pairings will also be provided.  

These wines are being presented to you by Wine Ambassadors Tara and Alan Hernandez. Tara has been a student at YT since 2011, and Alan has recently started to join her. They both have a passion for wine and became Wine Ambassadors to pursue that passion. Emotional Aromatherapy with doTERRA Essential Oils

with Christen Scott & Sonya Milu

Date: Saturday, April 7th

Time: 11:30am- 12:45pm

Join Christen Scott and Sonya Milu as they expose you to the emotional benefits of aromatherapy with doTERRA Essential Oils. This workshop will explore how essential oils impact our emotions and how we can use them to uplift our mood, calm ourselves, and so much more. You will create your own essential oil rollerball to take home with you at the end of the workshop.


A Taste of Mindfulness

with Christen Scott, Psy.D., ERYT-500

Date: Sunday, April 8th

Time: 11:00am- 1:00pm

Fee: $35 for members; $40 for everyone else

This workshop introduces the basics of mindfulness meditation as taught in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course.
Mindfulness is about being fully aware of whatever is happening in the present moment. It is a universal practice that anyone can benefit from. Mindfulness can be useful in managing physical and emotional pain, dealing with day-to-day stressors, and even increase optimal performance in athletes.
Christen will lead basic mindfulness practices as well as discuss how to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday life.

Steadying your Anchor:

Practices for an embodies, compassionate, and powerful life

with Kate Powell, ERYT-200, CYPT

Date: Saturday, April 28th

Time: 12:00- 2:00pm

Fee: $35

Sometimes life is beauty and calm seas and sometimes it is fear and storms. Where and how deep our ancho is in these moments is the difference between surviving and thriving. In this workshop, we’ll practice a sensory yoga class to embody our experience more deeply. Then through meditation, discussion, and other practices, we’ll experience a few more tools to help us come home to our unshakeable compassion, our authentic power, and the wonder of our true nature.

Program Details

In-House Mentorship:

  • 2x/week/weekend Apprentice will assist Mentor’s class at PYT
  • Apprentice will teach 10+ minutes of Mentor’s class
  • Apprentice will teach a Community Class with Mentor present
  • Apprentice will practice giving and receiving feedback
  • Apprentice will meet with Mentor after each class the Apprentice assists/teaches for discussion
  • Apprentice and Mentor will meet 2x/week/weekend for further education (30 minute minimum)

Online Mentorship:

  • Coaching via phone, Skype, or Facetime
